Introducing Judy Hong: OnLoop's Gold Medalist for May in the OnLoop Olympics

At OnLoop, we are thrilled to showcase the remarkable achievements of our customers who have embraced our platform to drive personal growth, team collaboration, and best-practice sharing.

As part of our newly launched "OnLoop Olympics," we are proud to feature Judy Hong as the first-ever "OnLoop Gold Medalist." Judy is a valued member of the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office (SNDGO), under the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), where she is part of the Government Data Office and focuses on public-private data sharing and long-term data strategies.

We asked Judy how she uses OnLoop to overcome challenges, enhance feedback culture, and achieve extraordinary results. Let's dive into her insightful responses and learn from her experiences firsthand.

What were the challenges or pain points before using OnLoop?

I was trying to incorporate journalling into my daily life but struggled to find the right medium. I was journalling beforehand, but it was difficult to track specific work goals meaningfully. The app has allowed me to do so by specifying specific goals and writing private reflections. This functions as a sort of work-specific journalling.

At the org level, I believe strongly in the benefit of feedback (both affirmative and constructive) to personal growth. However, it is difficult to normalize feedback giving especially upwards and amongst peers. In my view, it requires both leadership encouragement/ endorsement, and established processes or platforms to do so. In addition, I believe that it is important to share feedback in manners that are psychologically safe. I’ve found OnLoop tremendously helpful in the above.

How does OnLoop fit into your routine, ensuring you get the most out of it?

I try to log reflections about my work on OnLoop whenever they occur, usually after specific events. If I have worked with a group of people for some time, I request for captures to signal that I am ready for constructive feedback.

Have you found any features in OnLoop that were particularly helpful in your day-to-day work?

  1. The ability to set personal and specific goals that I can ask my colleagues to look out for. This allows for my colleagues to give more targeted feedback and those that I am mentally prepared for, and I can do likewise for them.

  2. The ability to publish captures privately allows for the platform to serve as a journalling tool.

  3. The ability to request for captures from specific colleagues. This serves as a clear signal that I am ready to receive constructive feedback in the areas specified.

Judy's experience with OnLoop showcases the value it brings to individuals and organizations in fostering a culture of feedback, personal growth, and collaboration. Her proactive approach to using OnLoop as a daily tool for reflection and improvement has resulted in remarkable achievements. We congratulate Judy on her outstanding achievement as the OnLoop Gold Medalist and commend her for setting a high standard of excellence.
